SLR- like cameras have no optical viewfinders but have electronic viewfinders and screens at the rear of the digital cameras .  Their rear LCD display offers a continuous preview and SLR cameras have lenses that zoom in to considerable telephoto magnification up to 200mm.

The real digital SLR cameras are known for their reliability, good quality images in low natural light and big, bright and accurate optical viewfinders. They also have the ability to attach specialty lenses for interiors, scenery, architecture or long telephoto lenses for sports shooting. However, the rear LCD display cannot offer a continuous preview. SLR cameras are large  and cumbersome.
 
 
Generally, the physically larger and more costly  cameras  do a better job for quality points than small  and cheap digital cameras .
